Position: Diner Attendant

SCHEDULE:

The Diner Attendant must be available to work 15-35 hours per week. Employee needs to be available to work during diner hours which are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. This position is nonexempt from overtime and will be required to work overtime hours as needed.

SUMMARY:

Greet customers, prepare food orders, clean the diner area, and enter data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers
  1. Actively seek to engage and develop rapport with customers
  2. Take food orders and payment
• Prepare food orders
  1. Make salads, sandwiches, wraps, and pizzas
  2. Wrap or place in containers for carryout
  3. Dish out vegetables, ladle sauce, soups, and fill beverage glasses
  4. Stock items
• Clean diner area
  1. Wipe down counters
  2. Clean dishes according to Kansas health standards
• Data entry
  1. Keep track of employee tabs
  2. Add new employee's into system
  3. Enter orders

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Experience

• 1 year of food preparation experience preferred

Education / Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Skills

• Efficient Keyboarding and 10-keying skill
• Excellent communication skills
  1. Ability to work well with personnel and vendors
  2. Ability to resolve problems
  3. Excellent active listening and speaking skills
• Customer service oriented - this position requires a person who will actively seek to engage and develop rapport with customers.
• Professional appearance

Certifications / Licensures

• Valid Kansas Driver's License,
  1. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as outlined by company policy

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Indoor environment, near front door (minor exposure to outdoor conditions)
• Very frequent standing
• Very frequent use of hand dexterity (use of keyboard, mouse)
• Very frequent use of near and medium range vision (18 inches to 25 feet)
• Occasional lifting of up to 35lbs
• Frequent use of communication skills such as speech, reading, receiving instructions and giving instructions
• Occasional loud noise
• Frequent reaching & squatting
• Rare operation of a motor vehicle
• Constant seeing
• Frequent odor, dust, and fumes
