Description:

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Director of Aftermarket Sales for an aviation client in Wichita, Kansas. You will lead global aftermarket revenue growth and customer engagement across aviation service and support programs. This strategic leadership role is responsible for expanding repair, overhaul, spare parts, and support-service offerings while strengthening relationships with key customers across commercial, business aviation, defense, and emerging mobility markets. The ideal candidate brings deep aviation aftermarket expertise, strong business development capability, and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and long-term customer partnerships.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field (advanced credentials a plus)
  • 10+ years of aviation industry experience with emphasis on aftermarket services (MRO, spares, repairs, support programs)
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing sales or customer support teams
  • Strong background in business development, program management, or customer success within aerospace environments
  • Demonstrated success building strategic customer relationships and long-term service agreements
  • Deep understanding of aviation aftermarket ecosystems and lifecycle support strategies
  • Advanced negotiation, market analysis, and competitive positioning skills
  • Experience developing and launching service/product support programs
  • FAA A&P certificate and/or pilot's license preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive global aftermarket revenue growth through expansion of repair, overhaul, spare parts, and support-service programs
  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives aligned with market trends and customer lifecycle needs
  • Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to strengthen team performance and accountability
  • Negotiate and manage long-term service agreements and partnership contracts with key customers
  • Identify new service opportunities and recommend program enhancements to increase market competitiveness
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and customer support teams to meet client requirements
  • Maintain strong executive-level customer relationships through regular engagement and global travel (50–70%)
