Material Handler

The Material Handler supports the production work flow and is responsible for storing and distributing material and product throughout the facility by means of a variety of material handling equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for loading, unloading, and moving material within or outside the plant building to ensure material is organized and maintained in preplanned locations.
• Removes scrap from inside the plant and places in appropriate bins for recycling.
• Maintains cleanliness of the outdoor areas around the facility.
• Move pallets/containers in and out of the building as necessary and is responsible for keeping the pallet and container area neat and organized.
• Maintains organization in the fixture area.
• Marks materials as needed with identifying information.
• Loads, unloads, and moves product for internal customers within JRCM to aid with product flow by insuring parts get moved to the next work area.
• Assists in the preparation of products for shipment for the purpose of stabilizing the products to reduce breakage, and or damage during delivery.
• Undertakes other duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility of position.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to follow directions and communicate clearly with other departments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective work priorities.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of Forklift experience, required.
• Prior Manufacturing experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

• Frequently reaching, standing, bending, squatting, and twisting.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
• Exposure to shop, office and outside environment.

Other:

• Working more than 40 hours per week may be required occasionally to complete company deliverables.
