Join PSI as a Sanitation Technology Intern! This opportunity allows you to work remotely within the approved states, with no travel required, or from our office in Nairobi, Kenya. You'll play an essential role in supporting our WASH team, focused on developing innovative sanitation solutions that prioritize consumer needs.

Your Role

The Sanitation Technology Intern will work closely with the WASH team to enhance sanitation products and processes. This role includes:

  • Project Contribution: Engage in a special project focused on current sanitation technologies. Collaborate on research and development for septic tanks, digester toilets, and toilet upgrades. Create decision-making tools for product selection and identify opportunities for scaling solutions. Your contributions will be crucial in advancing innovative sanitation technologies. (60% of your time)
  • Daily Operations Support: Provide administrative support, including maintaining knowledge management systems and assisting with project management tasks. You'll also contribute to a resource library detailing PSI's technical offerings. (25% of your time)
  • Networking and Learning: Build connections with PSI colleagues globally and engage in peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Schedule meetings for career advice and attend various organizational events. (15% of your time)

What Are We Looking For?

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program (preferred)
  • Some relevant work experience is a plus
  • Passion for advancing WASH and market-driven sanitation initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in advanced computer applications, especially Excel
  • French-speaking ability is preferred
