Duration: Long Term Contract.

Job Summary:
The Dynamics 365 Functional Architect (Finance & SCM) will lead the end-to-end assessment of a complex AX 2012 landscape and define the solution blueprint for migration to Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management. This role requires deep domain expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate business processes, legacy customizations, and integrations into a scalable, future-ready D365 architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. AX 2012 Landscape Assessment

  • Conduct a detailed analysis of the existing AX 2012 environment, including business processes (Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Production, Sales), customizations, ISVs, integrations, and data models.
  • Identify pain points, technical debt, and gaps between AX 2012 and D365 standard functionalities.
  • Assess dependencies, risks, and constraints impacting the migration.
2. Solution & Migration Blueprint
  • Define target-state D365 architecture across Finance & SCM modules.
  • Prepare a migration roadmap covering:
    • Data migration strategy
    • Customization rationalization and redesign
    • Integration modernization (Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure stack)
    • Reporting and analytics transformation (Power BI, BYOD)
  • Define environments, deployment model, and ALM approach aligned with Microsoft best practices.
  • Establish guiding principles for process standardization and harmonization.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Conduct workshops with business users, functional leads, and IT teams to validate requirements and future-state design.
  • Collaborate with technical architects to align functional and technical considerations.
  • Present findings, solution options, and recommendations to senior leadership.
4. Governance & Quality
  • Ensure alignment with Microsoft FastTrack and global best practices.
  • Define functional design standards, documentation templates, and review mechanisms.
  • Review functional deliverables for completeness and design signoff.
5. Leadership & Advisory
  • Act as a trusted advisor on D365 capabilities, licensing, roadmap, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance on process simplification, automation, and adoption of next-gen features (Finance Insights, Planning Optimization, WMS, Asset Management).
  • Mentor functional consultants and support delivery teams in estimation and planning.
Required Skills & Experience:

Functional Expertise:
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Dynamics AX 2012 and D365 Finance & SCM modules (Finance, GL/AP/AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Project Ops [optional], Procurement & Sourcing, Inventory, Warehouse, Production, Master Planning, Sales).
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and cross-module dependencies.
Migration Expertise:
  • Proven experience in large-scale AX-to-D365 migrations.
  • Knowledge of data migration frameworks, data entities, and cutover planning.
  • Experience rationalizing and redesigning customizations per D365 best practices.
Technical Appreciation:
  • Understanding of D365 extension model, integrations (OData, DMF, Dual-write), security model, and reporting stack.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform, Azure services, Logic Apps, and Microsoft ecosystem.
Consulting & Leadership Skills:
  • Strong communication, workshop facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex functional requirements into clear, structured documentation.
  • Experience working in multi-geography, multi-business-unit environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft certifications in D365 Finance and Supply Chain.
  • Experience with industry-specific implementations (Manufacturing, Retail, Distribution).
  • Exposure to FastTrack governance and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Hybrid delivery methodologies.
