Summary:

The Construction Site Supervisor (Interiors) is responsible for overseeing daily construction, installation, and repair activities involving interior framing, drywall systems, and raised access flooring, etc. within secured government facilities, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs), and other restricted areas. The supervisor ensures all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with contract specifications, security protocols, federal standards, and quality requirements.

This role coordinates trades, enforces security procedures, conducts inspections, and ensures timely completion of project milestones while maintaining tight control of materials, personnel access, and documentation.

This role is 80-90% with work at government facilities at various locations around the U.S.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Coordination and Communication
• Primary contact with government site lead
• Coordinate schedules with site
• Adjust schedules, materials and field crew based on changing needs of government
• Coordinate work sequencing with other trades (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, security systems)
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, security briefings, and progress updates
• Communicate effectively with government representatives, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal team members
• Support change order documentation, field sketches, and material quantity verification
• Site Management & Field Supervision
• Supervise daily interior construction activities including metal stud framing, gypsum wallboard installation, soundproofing, secure wall systems, raised access floor installation, and associated finishes
• Direct subcontractors and craft labor to ensure efficient sequencing and quality execution of tasks
• Maintain daily site presence to monitor safety, workmanship, and progress
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and punch-list activities to meet project requirements and deadlines
• Ensure restricted-area controls, escorting requirements, and access procedures are adhered to
• Perform Assessments of proposed sites
• Perform assessments of proposed government sites and determine project scopes, staffing and material needs
• Produce proposal estimates based on assessments
• Produce site reports to detail assessments, to include suggestion for facility improvements
• Security Compliance in Controlled Facilities
• Enforce physical security standards as dictated by ICD-705 (if needed), and other federal security guidelines
• Ensure all personnel, tools, and materials entering secure areas comply with government security protocols
• Maintain accurate records of controlled materials, access logs, and equipment inventories
• Support government security personnel during inspections, accreditation reviews, and construction monitoring
• Technical Oversight
• Read and interpret construction drawings, architectural details, framing plans, RCPs, and raised floor layouts
• Validate measurements, elevations, and wall assemblies requiring RF shielding, STC rating, or blast resistance (if applicable)
• Inspect framing, drywall, fastening systems, taping, finishing, and raised floor components for compliance with specs and industry standards
• Identify conflicts or discrepancies in design and coordinate solutions with project engineers or the construction manager
• Quality Assurance & Documentation
• Perform daily QC checks and document work progress, deficiencies, and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and approved materials
• Prepare and maintain daily construction reports, manpower logs, and photographic documentation
• Support commissioning, system testing, and final acceptance processes
• Safety Management
• Enforce compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and contract-specific safety programs
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), hazard assessments, and daily toolbox talks
• Monitor use of PPE, housekeeping, material storage, and safe work practices
• Immediately report and help correct safety breaches or incidents

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Effective verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with reading blueprints
• Attention to detail
• Accuracy with measurements
• Understanding of and willingness to follow site safety practices
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting
• This role involves significant physical activity, including climbing ladders, frequent lifting of items weighing over 50 pounds, and working in confined or awkward spaces (e.g., crawling or crouching). Occasionally, lifting objects weighing 75 pounds or more may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years minimum of maintenance/construction work in government secured facilities
• Experience working insecured government spaces or other controlled environments
• Strong knowledge of interior systems, construction sequencing, building codes, and finishing standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and security construction guidelines
• Proficiency with daily reporting, field documentation, and basic computer skills (MS Office, Procore, etc.)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Travel for this position is 80-90%

Preferred Qualifications:

• ICD-705 construction experience
• Experience with sound-rated wall systems, ballistic wall assemblies, RF-shielded rooms, or secure cable pathways
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
• Ability to manage small-scale self-performed crews
• Experience on federal, DoD, or Intelligence Community construction programs

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000.
