Fennemore has an exciting opportunity for a full-time, remote Conflicts Analyst to join our growing firm. At Fennemore, you'll be part of a collaborative legal team where your work truly matters. Reporting to the Conflicts and Compliance Manager, you'll help support new business intake and attorney onboarding by resolving conflicts of interest. Your diligence helps protect client relationships and ensures compliance with firm policies and ethical rules.
While this position is remote, please note that most of our offices operate in Mountain and Pacific time zones, so candidates must be available to work MST or PST business hours.
What You'll Do
As a Conflicts Analyst, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Conflicts & Compliance Review:
- Process conflicts searches and new business intake requests with a goal of 15-20 per day.
- Conduct research and cross-reference attorney, client, and matter information.
- Review and report potential conflicts of interest, providing recommendations where needed.
- Ensure accurate and consistent documentation for new matters and client engagements.
Attorney & Staff Onboarding: - Assist with attorney onboarding by running pre-employment conflicts checks and helping resolve issues before start dates.
- Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance requirements are met prior to hire.
Compliance & Due Diligence: - Run and review Westlaw Due Diligence reports as part of the intake process.
- Track compliance documentation including conflict waivers, engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and billing agreements.
Firmwide Support: - Respond to workflow requests and inquiries from attorneys and staff.
- Maintain accurate records and follow firm policies to support ethical compliance.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.

What You'll Bring You'll do well here if you bring:
- A combination of legal experience and education that has prepared you for work in conflicts, compliance, or corporate research.
- 1-2 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or law firm environment.
- Familiarity with legal ethics, due diligence, and compliance concepts.
- Experience with automated conflict-checking systems and corporate research tools.
- Confidence working in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A sharp eye for detail and the ability to think through issues logically and independently.
- Strong organizational habits - you're someone who can balance multiple priorities with ease.
- A collaborative spirit, openness to learning, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
