Position SummaryWe are seeking an Employee Benefits Associate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with non-ERISA benefit plans, including church, nonprofit, and public retirement plans. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely anywhere in California and to advise a variety of clients on retirement and health plan matters.---ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on the design, operation, and compliance of non-ERISA, church, nonprofit, and public sector benefit plans.Draft and review plan documents, amendments, and related employee communications.Provide guidance on IRS and state regulatory requirements for retirement and welfare plans.Assist clients with plan governance, funding, and fiduciary issues.Support benefits-related matters in mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.Monitor and communicate legal developments affecting non-ERISA and public sector plans.---QualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar (or ability to become admitted).2–6 years of experience in employee benefits law.Experience working with church plans, nonprofit plans, or governmental retirement systems.Strong understanding of the Internal Revenue Code and public plan regulations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters.---Compensation and BenefitsSalary up to $170,000, depending on experience.Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement plan.Remote position – work from anywhere within California#LI-KO2
