Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Nutrition Specialist to join our Cura Hospitality team in Newton, KS. As a Nutrition Specialist, you will assess and address the nutritional needs of patients/residents, initiate interventions to maintain their nutritional status, and contribute to enhancing their quality of life.

* This position will be scheduled for 1 day per week (either Mondays or Fridays) *

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team while educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Adhere to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standards and facility regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to establish procedures and policies and address issues related to dining service and nutrition.
• Engage in the development, review, and refinement of continuous quality improvement programs.

Qualifications:

Must-haves:

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition (prior to 2024) or a related field.
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or met eligibility requirements set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Completion of 75 hours of continuing education every five years, in accordance with the CDR.
• Licensed or certified as per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for assessments, care planning, and residents' rights.
• Able to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare or long-term care environments.

Work Location:

• Newton Presbyterian Manor, located in Newton, KS.

Compensation:

• $33.00 - $36.00 per hour, based on experience.
