GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Integration Engineer to support healthcare data interoperability efforts within the VA Program. This role is ideal for a technical expert with deep experience in Oracle SQL/PLSQL and Java, combined with a strong background in HL7 messaging and healthcare data exchange. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can clearly communicate complex data issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position will be fully remote within the United States.
Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable healthcare data integration solutions. Develop and optimize Oracle PL/SQL procedures and complex SQL queries for high-volume data pipelines. Build and maintain backend services using Java for HL7 parsing, data transformation, and system integration. Collaborate closely with business analysts, technical leaders, and security teams to ensure accurate and compliant data exchange. Interpret and transform HL7 v2/v3 messages to support EHR, lab, and clinical system interoperability. Develop and consume SOAP and RESTful web services using XML and other healthcare data formats. Support Agile development lifecycles using Jira and participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Deliver technical documentation and data findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and business stakeholders. Maintain and manage ETL and orchestration tools as needed, supporting automated and scalable data pipelines.

Posted Pay Range: The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range: USD $130,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
