Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining compliance with payroll laws and internal policies, and supporting reporting, reconciliations, and year-end activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, customer service orientation, and the ability to work effectively in a team while adapting to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process regular, off-cycle, and adjustment payrolls accurately and on time.
  • Apply knowledge of payroll mechanics, including withholdings, imputed income, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Perform quarterly and year-end payroll tasks, including reporting and compliance activities.
  • Generate and maintain standard and custom payroll reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a resource for payroll-related inquiries, providing excellent customer service to employees and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate data flow.
  • Support process improvements and implement best practices in payroll operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and adhere to internal controls and company policies.
  • Flexibility to work evening hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-7 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll best practices, including regular, off-cycle, and adjustments, withholdings, reconciliations, imputed income, internal controls, quarter and year-end tasks, and reporting.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Adaptable and receptive to change.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with Dayforce or equivalent payroll platform.
  • Experience with SAP payroll modules is a plus.
