FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to Elementary Pastor
Grade I ($12.40 - $17.90 Based on experience and qualification)

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direct supervision of the Elementary Pastor, the 252 Small Group Assistant Coordinator assists in the coordination of the 252 small group leader volunteer team. Includes scheduling, training, coordinating, and communicating with the volunteers. Monitors the 252 environment during the weekend to ensure the safety and security of all children.
The incumbent must perform all job duties as outlined in this job description to support ongoing mission of the church while committed in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Assists with coordinating the 252 small group volunteer administrative functions by scheduling volunteers for each service on a weekly basis. (app. 20%)
• Assists with coordinating the 252 strategy for the care, discipleship, and long- term investment of small group leaders, including in the execution of training strategies to keep small group leaders equipped and inspired. (app. 20%)
• Reviews the acquired curriculum and makes activity suggestions for the 252 weekend services. Gathers supplies and implements small group activities for the 252 weekend services. (app. 15%)
• Assists in recruiting new volunteers and facilitating training for new small group leaders for the elementary ministry. (app. 10%)
• Assists in the interview process of potential small group volunteers. (app. 5%)
• Assists with monitoring the 252 Theater environment during weekend services, ensuring the environment's exit doors are monitored at all times. Assists with greeting and engaging kids and parents. Assists with the check-out process. (app. 20%)
• Assists with environment communication, organization, cleanliness, and upkeep. Assists in the preparation and closure of the environment and equipment for services and special events. (app. 5%)
• Assists in various roles for special events (app. 5%)

These duties are subject to change as church needs and strategies evolve. Employee may be required to perform other duties.

Requirements

Please see the attached schedule for this role. Weekends are required for this role.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

• A minimum of a high school diploma is required.

EXPERIENCE• A minimum of two to three years experience volunteering or working in a children's ministry.

• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency, working knowledge of MS Word and preferred knowledge of Planning Center.
• Ability to foster a team environment and sense of unity among staff and volunteers.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Positive temperament, dependability, and professionalism.
• Must have the ability to deal courteously with the public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

• Frequently ascend and descend stairs and/or ladders. Frequently remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
• Communicate verbally with others to exchange information.
• Ability to kneel or bend down to a child's eye level.
• Frequently lift, carry and move up to 40 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to assemble material.
• Frequently observe and monitor environment from long distances.
• Constantly view and operate technological devices, including but not limited to computers, laptops, printers, and radios.
• Frequently discern colors and sounds for production of creative elements.
• Must possess the ability to work in environments with theatrical elements, including but not limited to strobing lights and fog.
• Quick reaction with movement.
• Occasionally work at elevated distances from the ground using scaffolding or other aerial lifting commercial equipment.
• Frequently move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• This position works primarily indoors. Occasional outdoor work may be required.
