Fabricator/Welder

Description:

Primary Responsbilities

  • Fabricate and install complex custom production machinery based on blueprints, samples, or

    verbal instructions.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding with proficiency; welding certification is preferred but not

    required.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Support operational efficiency by working on assigned projects and assisting with training as

    needed.


Job Duties

  • Read and interpret blueprints; create jigs and fixtures for weldments.
  • Maintain and repair equipment per the Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Install equipment, including rigging, anchoring, conduit, plumbing, and basic electrical work.
  • Operate welding equipment and tools such as MIG, TIG, and stick welders, plasma torch, and

    cutting torch.
  • Use metalworking machines including lathe, mill, and bandsaw.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes safely.
  • Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and repetitive movements for

    extended periods.
  • Adhere to all HSE and quality procedures; utilize all required PPE.
  • Assist with On-the-Job Training (OJT) for new employees as needed.


Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of related experience preferred in fabrication, mechanical, and electrical repair.
  • MIG, TIG, and stick welding with the ability to pass a weld test on each. Certification preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to read pressure gauges, blueprints, and precision instruments
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Forklift certification and ability to use various shop tools and measuring devices.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and adapt to cross-training opportunities.
  • Preferred proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
