Provides technical guidance and direction to other staff.Essential FunctionsUses graphic design software to produce complex motion graphics, graphic art and visual materials for items such as promotions, advertisements, films, packaging, and informative and instructional material through a variety of media outlets. Creates highly complex graphics primarily for published, printed or electronic media, such as brochures, web pages, motion graphics, interactive media and multimedia projects for advertising. Uses color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques in adherence to University media standards. Maintains and updates graphic design files to ensure safe storage and appropriately document all design pieces and projects. Develops graphic or textual materials for internet web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects. Coaches, trains, or mentors less experienced staff members. Leads development projects, schedules and monitors assignments that require complex technical design and creative services. Ensures projects are completed on time. Serves as the primary contact for University photography needs and requests, including scheduling, organizing and running shoots. Directs and oversees staff photography deliverables, and ensures compliance with established brand standards.
