Job Title: School Based Health Clinic Receptionist (Part Time 20 hours per week) Supervisor: School Based Health Clinic Coordinator (USD #261)Evaluation Completed By: Supervisor or DesigneeRate of Pay: According to USD 261 Classified Rate of Pay ScaleQualifications and Requirements: 1. High School diploma or equivalent. 2. Computer skills. 3. Working knowledge of office equipment. 4. Telephone and excellent customer service skills. 5. Demonstrate ability to manage regular office routines. 6. Maintain current TB testing as required by Health Department regulations. (after employment offer is made)Performance Responsibilities: 1. Greet all clinic guests/patients at the door and escort them promptly into the clinic waiting space. Clinic guests/patients should always be accompanied. 2. Assist all guests/patients with required clinic paperwork completion. Mail, email, or fax paperwork when requested and appropriate. 3. Check patients in upon their arrival, verify existing information, update as needed, and enter new information into the Electronic Medical Record/KU system. Scan all insurance cards and ID for new patients and update annually, process patient documents, update releases of information, and notify physician of patient arrival. 4. Maintain waiting area space in good working order. Replenish supplies and materials as needed. Sanitize and clean the waiting area as needed after patient occupancy. 5. Be a patient resource and advocate. Answer questions regarding clinic procedures. Keep clinical and medical staff apprised of patient needs and concerns. 6. Answer clinic phone calls, schedule patient appointments, create telephone encounters to providers regarding patient messages. Notify clinic backup promptly for assistance with telephone or patient needs. 7. Be knowledgeable of school district rules, regulations, and policies, especially as they interface with School Based Clinic activity. 8. Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information to remain in compliance with legal requirements and to maintain a professional work environment. 9. Check patients out at completion of their visit, schedule follow up as directed/appropriate. 10. Utilize records and documentation systems for both KU ECW and USD #261. Attend trainings as needed to learn and stay well versed in both systems. Track records, run reports and gather information as requested from both systems. 11. Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions: Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-pace, high-intensive work environment.Terms of Employment: At will.
