Salary: $65,000 Annually

Shift: Day Shift

Location: Wichita, KS

Position Summary:

HiFyve is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes and procedures. This role ensures that products are produced to specification, aligned with production schedules, and manufactured with optimal resource utilization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement within an aviation manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Provide manufacturability input during design phases, supporting efficient production strategies and tooling concepts.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions, including inspection requirements and process flow documentation.
  • Troubleshoot recurring production issues, drive root cause investigations, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Execute engineering changes and ensure accuracy of work orders and related system data within the ERP system.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Evaluate equipment, tooling, and resource needs; assist in layout planning, new equipment procurement, and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Purchasing, Production, and external suppliers to resolve technical challenges and support production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable industry and regulatory standards by reviewing and updating manufacturing documentation.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Planner, Manufacturing Engineer, or Tool Planner in an aviation setting
  • OR 10+ years of relevant manufacturing/fabrication experience within the aviation industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (M2M preferred); experience with CATIA or Enovia highly desirable
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physically able to sit/stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and access confined spaces or elevated areas as needed
  • Must be fluent in English and able to read and interpret technical and safety documentation
